She's 18 months old!! Will this breast feeding ever come to end?? Yes, it's great bonding and very good for her but I'm tired! I've been over this for a few months now and was hoping she'd slowly wean herself off. No such luck! This little momma is nursing more than ever these days. I've tried putting garlic, lemon juice and mustard on my nipples and what does she do? She smacks her lips together and says, "Yumm!" Are you kidding me?!
I need advice, ladies! Quick!! Her mouth full of teeth has taken the joy out of this.

My son was 19 months when it ended. So it should be happening soon. :) The end is nigh!
I understand that feeling! Both of mine nursed until 20 months. xx - M
To each there own. You have to know what is best and you have been doing it longer than I did with my 2 kids. so do not be too hard on yourself.

My daughter is almost 16 months and she still nurses. Mainly at night and during the day when she needs a bit of comfort around nap time. I still don't mind it, since I was going for baby-led weaning. But one thing I DO mind is my lop-sidedness. I actually think my right boob is done because I only ever need to nurse her on my left lol. I can't give you any advice since I'm not there yet, I guess just enjoy it since it will be over all too soon.
LOL! Ah, well you know I kinda felt like if I gave each of my children a year of my breasts that was good enough. About a month before my second baby turned One, I introduced formula because he was still waking at night to nurse and wanted to sleep with me and I can't really sleep comfortably with him. So I did just one year with each. It took me pumping and mixing breast milk with formula for him to finally take to formula. It was a struggle, but sometimes you have to do what is best for your what is best for MOMMY so mommy is happy.
Hope she weans soon for your sake!! ;) Hang in there!

Congrats to you for breastfeeding for so long. Both my kids transitioned before a year hit so there was no need for lemon juice and such. Funny though! ;) Hope she transitions soon!
Thanks for the support, ladies. I feel as if she wants to fall asleep on her own but she doesn't know how. She gets so irritable. I guess I will let her figure it out.
Thanks, ladies! I do enjoy my time with her. It makes me sad because she is my last baby. I just really need to be able to start putting her to bed without having to breastfeed at the same time.
Visiting for the first time through Sunday Sync, and saw this post title...laughed when I realized it was about wanting your boobs back from your nursing daughter. I interpreted it as "I nursed my kids, where did my previously perky boobs go - I want them back!" Either way, enjoying your blog -glad I found you!
I've been trying to figure out how to make my daughter stop nursing but all my plans just ended up like yours:)) i've managed to get her to nurse just before she falls asleep at night and one time during the night but hey! That's something! Try wearing a tight bra during the day and maybe use ice packs, you will produce less milk and it will determine her to eat more food and hopefully one day to stop nursing! Good luck!
