Piano Bench Makeover

It's finally done.  I finally completed my first furniture makeover project.  Okay, it's not completely done because I still want to either stain or paint the legs.  The tiny piano bench that sits in my foyer was something we brought over from my father-in-law's house after he passed away.  My husband thought it was great just the way it was (Men!) but I immediately saw it had the potential to be awesome.   Why did it take me so long to complete such a simple project?  Because I have 2 little monsters that rarely leave me alone.  Oh, and let's not forget my pain in the butt puppy and needy hubby.   I needed a staple gun and like most moms I put everyone else first (can you picture the halo over my head?).  My mom was kind enough to buy me the stapler I needed and so ran off to pick up the fabric the first chance I got ... over one week later!

I ended up purchasing only 1/2 a yard of fabric for $6 hoping it would be enough.  When I arrived home I realized it might not fit.  Luckily enough, I was able to make it work.  I have to say, I love it!  I love how it completely brightens up the space.  The colors in the fabric are a combination of my family room colors and the colors I plan on using in my formal living room.  This was so easy that now I cannot wait to tackle my wing back chairs.   Okay, that's not true.  I'm terrified!!

So, what do you think?

I love it, the fabric completely transformed the bench. Everyone in my family laughed at me when I asked for a staple gun for my 30th birthday but I love it!

I love the fabric! I think it could look great with the legs painted white with a vintage finish. But it also looks great the way it is.

That is so lovely! I have a similar bench that also has a very dark dull fabric on - maybe this is what it needs :)

That turned out very nice. I am also terrified to tackle projects like this, but I am slowly building up the nerve to get my dining room set done. Thanks for sharing, it looks great. I am a new follower from the Mom's Monday Mingle Hop.
